Forestry Commission land sell-off.....

Potentially, this sell off is a big issue for horse riders.

For historical reasons, much of their traditional access to the Forestry Commission land remains undefined and unprotected by law.

There is good reason to believe that our bridleways through Forestry land have not all been properly legally recorded.

Government appear to have washed their hands with of public access following sales of forestry land in the past - claiming they keep no records.

Last but not least, horse riders had freedom of access to forests prior to 1965, when the Commission imposed charges on riders. These restrictions were not based on a historical precedent and should be removed.

Hansard says it all.....
